Every year, ReSurge International works toward one bold vision: a world where safe, timely, and affordable reconstructive surgery is accessible to all. Our 2025 Annual Report captures a year of extraordinary resilience, innovation, and impact—made possible by our global partners, donors, volunteers, and patients.
Below are a few highlights from the year. We invite you to explore the full report to see how your support is transforming lives around the world.

Impact at a Glance
In Fiscal Year 2025, ReSurge’s global training and treatment programs:
- Impacted 31,087 patients through surgery and surgical training
- Trained 8,764 participants across hands-on and virtual programs
- Partnered with 20 Surgical Outreach Partners in 13 countries
- Mobilized 101 volunteer surgeons and lecturers from 10 countries
Most importantly, patients paid $0 for life-changing reconstructive care—removing cost as a barrier to healing and dignity.

Training That Creates a Ripple Effect
ReSurge’s proven train-the-trainer model continues to be one of the most powerful ways to close the global surgery gap. This year, groundbreaking research—awarded Best Paper in PRS Global Open—quantified that impact:
One ReSurge-trained ‘Super Trainer” will impact more than 400,000 patients over their career.
By investing in local surgeons, ReSurge isn’t just delivering care today—we’re building sustainable surgical ecosystems for generations to come.

Treating Patients, Restoring Futures
At the heart of ReSurge’s work are the patients.
This year, stories like Rajkumari’s—a young woman from India who survived severe burn injuries after an epileptic seizure—remind us what access to surgery truly means. Through multiple reconstructive procedures and long-term support, Rajkumari is reclaiming her confidence, independence, and dreams.
Other patient stories, including acid attack survivor and human rights advocate Muskan Khatun, reached millions through national media—amplifying awareness that reconstructive surgery is not cosmetic, but essential to survival and quality of life.

A Milestone Year of Growth
This year also marked a major organizational milestone with the no-cost acquisition of key programs from Physicians for Peace (PFP), expanding ReSurge’s reach across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. These programs—including burn care curricula and surgical scholarships—will continue and thrive under ReSurge’s leadership. You’ll also read how ReSurge amplified global awareness through our award-winning Closing the Gap campaign, pivoted with resilience following the termination of USAID funding, advanced access to limb-saving microsurgery, welcomed a new cohort of Pioneering Women in Reconstructive Surgery, and launched a Safe Surgery Initiative to strengthen sustainable surgical systems on the ground.

A Community of Support
None of this work would be possible without our donors. Your generosity fuels every surgery, every training, and every moment of healing reflected in this report. Because of you, patients who once had no access to care are reclaiming their independence, dignity, and futures—and local surgeons are gaining the skills to serve their communities for a lifetime. This impact is yours.
