Academic Faculty and Curriculum

ReSurge has established an esteemed faculty of leading experts from around the world to develop specialized curricula for the ReSurge Global Training Program, in order to increase the reconstructive surgical capacity of local medical professionals.

ReSurge's consulting medical officer and Stanford's chief of plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. James Chang, is leading the RGTP and has enlisted the faculty listed below in this effort. These academic surgeons are working with ReSurge to adapt and strengthen reconstructive surgery curricula and systematize medical education programs so they are relevant in developing countries.

Through this program, we evaluate and assess local surgical teaching, identify specific gaps in training and create customized curriculum components based on local epidemiological needs and the capacity of the health care workforce.

The program is initially focusing on training for surgeons, then will leverage similar measurable, progressive training modules for other medical disciplines needed for safe surgical teams, including anesthesiology, nursing, pediatrics, occupational and physical therapy, and other related disciplines.
