After surgery for a cleft lip, 13-year-old Antonio was finally permitted to attend school in Mexico. His success and the almost instantaneous changes in his life gave our founder, Dr. Donald Laub, the inspiration to help others through reconstructive plastic surgery.
Annual Report

With Stanford University roots, ReSurge International pioneered the first efforts to bring reconstructive surgery to developing countries in 1969. ReSurge's mission is to provide reconstructive surgical care for people in developing countries, and to build surgical capacity in areas that lack access worldwide. The organization's goals are to build surgical skills in low-resource settings through surgical training programs, increase access to high-quality surgical care in developing countries and to restore function and improve lives by providing the full scope of reconstructive surgical care.

In the past year, we focused on medical training, provided more than 5,000 surgeries and responded effectively to aid earthquake victims in Nepal.
